Creating Graphic Advertisements For Yellow Pages In The 70s

Here’s a 1977 film that highlights a Bell Labs-developed touch screen system for building advertisements for inclusion in the Yellow Pages. While very crude by today’s Photoshop/Illustrator/Fireworks/whatever standard, the scanner + dynamic design system was a huge leap forward for workers to easily create graphic advertisements that would go directly from the screen to the Phone Book.
