QR Codes are a strange one, some people just love to whip out their smartphones and follow their mysterious cyber-trail in the faint hope that it will lead them somewhere interesting. Others however see it merely as a marketing ploy and won’t even bat an eyelash.
Well Jane and Mark Barnes, two farmers from Somerby in the UK have decided that it could be a really clever way of raising awareness about dairy farming and have sprayed one onto their cow, Lady Shamrock! The QR Code leads to their website ‘This is Dairy Farming’ and the couple hope that it will garner some traffic for the website and get people interested!
The lucky cow, Lady Shamrock resides in a field that is on a popular tour route and she apparently gets seen by plenty of passersby. Jane Barnes said of the wacky idea: “This is just another way to engage with the public and show them we are a modern business which embraces new technology.”
Last week Buzz Patrol featured the article ‘5 Of The Stupidest Places To Put QR Codes’ and this might just be one of them! Unless it’s a QR Code on a cow that has newly escaped from the Narnia closet, I don’t think I could be bothered to scan it, but you never know, some people might look it up out of curiosity – as it is a pretty unusual place to come across one!
