
It seems that yesterday on Twitter the hashtag #TweetYourNameWithNoVowels became increasingly popular (for some strange reason). People began responding to it immediately, with their vowel-less names or to give snarky remarks at the dumb hashtag. However, many people responded that genuinely did not know what a vowel was. The question, “What’s a vowel?” was asked on Twitter far too many times by far too many people.
If this does not make you sad, then there must be something wrong with you. I remember being a youngin’ and taking great pride in learning the difference between consonants and vowels. Where did we go wrong?
So thank you, Twitter. Thank you for reminding us that we are all pretty much doomed once today’s generation of teenagers takes over.
