Tribute to the End of the Space Shuttle Era With Lego Space Shuttle

As a tribute to the now retired Space Shuttle program, Romanian rocketeer Raul Oaida aka YouTube user vinciverse sent a Lego Space Shuttle into Space.

Raul writes:

The launch took place on the 31st of December 2011 from central Germany and reached a max altitude of 35000m. A 1600g meteo balloon filled with helium was used alongside a GoPro Hero, Spot GPS and of course Lego Space Shuttle model 3367.

Unable to finance the project himself, Raul convinced Australian Internet entrepreneur Steve Sammartino to invest in the project after pitching it to the Venture Capitalist on Skype.

The pair are now working on their new mini project, which Steve promise to blow us away.
