Torafu Architects’ Clopen Shelf With Secret Drawer to Hide Your Collectibles

This is the Clopen Shelf, a shelf that doubles as a drawer from Japanese firm Torafu Architects.

The drawer is only 23mm tall and when closed, the Clopen Shelf is 34mm thick, so forget about stashing your sex toys in there but it is a good place for hiding your passport, jewelry and other small valuables.

The Clopen is constructed from elaborate aluminum parts, clad with sliced veneer to looks as if the piece is fabricated from natural wood and the shelf is opened using a set of magnetic ‘keys’ that easily detach when it’s closed so noone will be able to tell that the shelf is there in the first place.
