This Is How They Fix A Broken Telephone Pole In China

When this telephone pole was knocked down by a car inside a public park in Guilin city of southwest China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, instead of replacing the broken pole with a new one. To save some money, China’s state-owned telecommunication company China Telecom just bodged the broken parts together with adhesive tapes and a bit of iron wire.

A China Telecom representative explained:

“The company’s adhesive tapes were used only as a warning signal.” And responding to the hidden danger, the customer service center argued, “The pole won’t fall down, because it is not overburdened and the cables above keep its balance too.”
