The Science of Star Trek

So many of us that grew up watching Star Trek have seen technological advances mean that a lot of the stuff presented in this fantastical world of the future have actually become a reality.

Like for example our smartphones, which are much more advanced than the communicators that the Star Trek posse would use to arrange piss-ups and intergalactic space rescue missions.

Back then, so much of the stuff we saw in the series seemed too implausible to ever actually become a reality but we suspended our disbelief and watched in awe anyhow. Yet it seems that some of it at least, wasn’t as far-fetched as we initially believed. Check out this awesome infographic that elaborates on exactly which parts of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry’s visions are close to coming true and which are hiding through that wormhole on the other side of the universe never (probably) to be obtained.
