The Old Samurai: Striking Short That Pays Homage To Samurai Films Both Classic & Recent

This striking, aesthetically enchanting short ‘The Old Samurai‘, from writer/director Benjamin Wong pays homage to Samurai films, both classic and recent.

The 6-minute short is shot beautifully and its story is told solely through music and visuals, as Wong invites the viewer to interpret the film through their own eyes. There is some amazing cinematography and some incredibly capturing scenes.

On the short’s official website it states; “After a lifetime of war, an old samurai is challenged to an epic showdown with a young ambitious samurai, his worthiest adversary yet. Battle is imminent, but the past could prove to be the old samurai’s undoing.”

Wong says the Old Samurai is a story about love, loss and reconciliation inspired by the quest to capture that split second between a Samurai’s first draw and final blow.
