The Hobbit Announces its Film Titles and Release Dates

Yesterday the official Hobbit blog not only announced the titles of each film in the Hobbit trilogy, but also when all three films would be released to movie theaters as well – at long last!

We already knew the first film is going to be called The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, but we now know the second film will be entitled The Desolation of Smaug and the third There and Back Again. The first film is still set to hit theaters on December 14th of this year, and then we’ll only have a year to wait until the second one comes out on December 13th, 2013. As for the third film, we’ll only have to wait seven whole months for it to come out on July 18th, 2014. While the dates could always change for the films (especially the third one), this is still positive news and reason enough to rejoice.
