The Cube Brings 3D Printing Right to Your Home

I think I’ve made it clear about how awesome 3D printing is over the last couple weeks. From art to clothing, and even body parts, we’re basically at the point where we can print almost anything – provided we have the materials and the machinery to do so. Up until now, getting our hands on the materials hasn’t been much of a problem, but the machines have not been available for the general public to purchase. However, it looks like that’s all about to change.

According to Business Wire, the well-known chain Staples will officially be selling 3D printers before the end of June. The 3D printer they’ll be selling is called The Cube, which will be running a $1,299.99 and only available in a limited number of stores at first. The Cube is compatible with both Macs and PCs, and it comes with Wi-Fi and twenty-five 3D templates. Standing at 5.5 x 5.5 x 5.5, The Cube’s size makes it easy to transport and fit just about anywhere. This printer comes with sixteen different colors worth of material – some that even glow in the dark. Users have the option of printing from one of the templates that comes with the product, or designing their own templates through the software Cubify Inventy.

No release date for The Cube has been permanently set, but it is guaranteed we’ll start to see this printer pop up all over sometime in these next three weeks.
