Meet 47-year-old Larry Greenfield, the man that some have dubbed the ‘unluckiest bachelor in the world.’
He is a rich and successful businessman but despite having used some of the top matchmaking services in New York and going on 250 dates with potential suitors, he still has not found one to become his wife.
To many, Larry must sound like he is really unlucky in love, but apparently there is a bit more to his story than initially meets the eye. According to reports in the New York Post and Yahoo Shine, Larry’s biggest problem is that he is too picky.
Maureen Tara Nelson who was a former matchmaker for Larry said; “his problem is he’s a 6 and he wanted 10s.”
The New York Post describes the retired Wall Street Trader as incredibly detail-orientated, he wanted a woman who was slim, Jewish, funny and non-alpha (i.e. not interested in pursuing a career).
Nelson said that because Larry was wealthy, he assumed that it would be easy to find a beautiful woman who fitted his description; however Nelson said that Larry failed to realize that many of New York’s stunners are already successful. She also said that he would always come back from the numerous dates she arranged for him complaining about minor details – eventually causing her to drop him as a client.
But Larry, rather than accepting that he might be a little too choosy, points the finger of blame at the matchmakers. He said: “You pay them up front and they don’t provide a service. They tell you how wonderful you are, whatever you want to hear.”

It’s seems as though unlucky (or picky) Larry has but one chance left, Janis Spindel from Serious Matchmaking has offered to try and find him the perfect woman. She said:
“Men are picky. It’s in their DNA. They want the four B’s — beauty, brains, body and balance… Larry wants a normal girl who’s in her thirties who wants to be his wife, who will be a sweet and loving wife and mom. …. I told him I will not take money from him until I have her.”
Who knows, maybe Spindel can succeed where so many others have failed and find Larry Greenfield the perfect woman.
