If you didn’t have the chance to catch the Avengers on the big screen, I pray to all the movie Gods in the heavens that you weren’t unfortunate enough to watch this Chinese bootleg version for your first viewing of the movie.
If you did see this version for the first time, you might have found yourself scratching your head quizzically wondering why in the hell an evil overlord from a distant planet needed bait and eyeliner in order to try and take over the world!
Yup, according to the people who created these subtitles that was what Loki was after all along….Oh and he was also in a bad mood for most of the movie because people were playing around with his Rubik’s cube. The whole thing makes much more sense now…NOT.
In saying that, if you have already seen the proper version, it might well be worth watching this Chinese bootleg version for sheer comic value. If you can get your hands on it that is, something tells me it won’t be readily available at your local DVD rental store.
Being of Turkish Cypriot origin and speaking a bit of the language, I have seen a great many badly subtitled movies, sometimes missing out the odd word, or choosing to use completely the wrong one in its place can have the viewer believing that the narrative of the movie revolves around something else entirely. Sometimes though, if you have already seen a proper version of the movie, they really are worth watching because they are total giggle fit!
