Miami teen Yasser Lopez, 16, has miraculously survived a freak accident which saw a 3ft stainless steel spear penetrate his skull and go through his brain after a freak accident during a fishing trip.

On June 8th, Lopez was swimming in a lake near his Miami home, when his friend who was loading a spear gun which he was planning to use to catch fish, accidentally hit the trigger. The spear harpooned the boy – lodging into his brain yet somehow the teenager was still conscious and able to speak to doctors when he arrived at the Jackson Memorial hospital.

According to the doctors who treated Lopez, he became agitated upon his arrival to the hospital and was sedated. Doctors also had to use a mechanical cutting device to sever the spear so he could fit inside the hospitals CT scanner! Continue Reading
