Superhero Themed Wedding For the Win

ww1

Honestly, when done right, you can’t beat a themed wedding. They can be simply the best.

On May 11th of this year, Heather and Kim tied the knot inside the Greenville Children’s Museum. The theme of their wedding? Comic books and superheroes. It looks as if it was a beautiful event, both in ceremony and in decor. Their decorations were superhero themed, including comic strip napkin rings, the color schemes of their flowers, and vintage comic postcards for their guests to write notes on in lieu of a guestbook. Unsurprisingly, there were a lot of superhero logo t-shirts worn under jackets, just waiting to be revealed in the class Superman pose. Heather even baked a beautiful Wonder Woman and Xena themed cake. Yes, it looks like Heather and Kim’s superhero themed wedding was certainly a dream come true for them, and certainly an event to remember by everyone in attendance.Continue Reading

Wilde Wonder? Actress Olivia Wilde Expresses Desire To Play Wonder Woman In New Justice League Movie

Tron: Legacy actress Olivia Wilde recently confessed her desire to play fearsome heroine Wonder Woman in the forthcoming Justice League movie. Speaking to Geekscape at SXSW where Wilde was promoting The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Wilde said she’d love to don the iconic outfit and become Diana the Amazonian warrior princess. She even practices the infamous wrist cross during the short interview.

Other actresses that fans have speculated should be cast in the role include Haywire’s Gina Carano and Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks. Or one could even put Nicolas Cage in a wig and see how he fairs in the role! I don’t think I’ll ever look at him in quite the same way again after seeing his head superimposed onto Wonder Woman’s svelte body! Continue Reading

Superheroes Reimagined as Manatees

Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Supermanatee!

Joel Micah Harris (jharris on Deviantart) has gone and created some amazing pieces of fan art, which portray superheroes as manatees. It’s a little bizarre and utterly random, but you can’t deny that his pictures aren’t amazingly wonderful (not to mention hilarious). Manatees get a lot of grief for being not overly intelligent, but that doesn’t mean they don’t look great when dressed up as Hawkeye or Wonder Woman.

Below are seven amazing pieces of fan art of manatee superheroes, though there are many more that can be found at Joel’s deviantart. You can also go onto Joel’s Red Bubble account if you’d like to own prints, T-shirts, or stickers of his artwork.Continue Reading
