Mosaic portrait artist Jason Mecier‘s latest work is a portrait of the late Whitney Houston produced from pills of various colours, shapes and sizes.
Houston died from a fatal mixture of alcohol and prescription drugs last month.

It’s Not Right, But Is It Ok?
An evaluation of how we react to the death of a celebrity on social media websites…
As you probably all have heard Grammy Award winning singer and talented actress Whitney Houston died a few days ago from a suspected drug overdose at the age of 48. It is alleged that she partied for nearly two days before being found by one of her entourage in the hotel room bath tub. Initial theories into why she died suggest she may have mixed alcohol with prescription and/or other drugs and the combination may have caused her to fall unconscious and drown in the bath tub. Before an autopsy is performed however, this is all just speculation.
Whenever a popular celebrity dies, tributes come pouring in from other celebrities and artists that worked in their field, in Whitney’s case, musicians and movie stars were quick to heap praise upon the tragic star, who at one stage in her career, had the world at her feet and was arguably the most successful female singer on the circuit. Whitney Houston Dies at 48
Pop legend Whitney Houston died on Saturday afternoon.
She was 48.
News of Houston’s death came on the eve of music’s biggest night – the Grammy Awards.
Initial reports say that the six time Grammy Awards winner, was found dead in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles by her on/off boyfriend Ray J. She was expected to make an appearance at a pre-Grammys party on Saturday night, which is why she was staying at the hotel.

The Jokes On You – Whitney’s Not Broke!!
Whitney Houston’s camp have spoken out about a rumour that appeared on celebrity gossip websites last week, that suggested that the talented singer and actress was in financial hardship. These websites, some of which even quoted an anonymous source who was allegedly ‘in the know’, stating she was ‘broke as a joke’ and implying that she could even be homeless if not for the kindness of her friends.
Her representatives have said that these rumours are “false” and “ridiculous” and pointed out that she had just finished making the film ‘Sparkle’ (2012) with Jordin Sparks and Mike Epps, which she was obviously paid to star in!
In 2001 Houston, whose rocky marriage to bad boy musician Bobby Brown has never kept her far from the headlines, signed a record deal worth $100 million, it is hard to image that she would have fallen on the hard times suggested in these stories!
In 1992 Houston’s cover of ‘I Will Always Love You’ – soundtrack from The Bodyguard – which she starred in with Kevin Costner, was hugely successful. It was number one across the globe, and broke numerous records for copies sold, and time spent at the top of the charts in many countries!
