Donut enthusiasts who are soon to be tying the knot, might be interested in this heavenly glazed donut wedding cake that was featured on Dunkin’ Donuts Bahamas Facebook Page.

Apparently this epic creation was made by the Swiss Pastry Shop for the bridal show booth of Button’s Formal Wear in Nassau. It features layer-upon-layer of delicious donuts stacked up and topped off with a pair of adorably cute anthropomorphic bride and groom donuts complete with googly eyes and appropriate headgear. Check out this gothic masterpiece wedding cake created by food artist Anna de Vetten aka Conjurer’s Kitchen for the Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza that took place in Birmingham last weekend. Anna is no stranger to wonderfully gruesome edible creations, you may remember her stomach churning Anatomical Wax Model cakes and eerie Solid White Chocolate Baby Heads that we featured on the site previously.

Two essential things that any bride-to-be will want to be absolutely perfect for her big day are her wedding gown and the wedding cake. So why not combine the two and create a wedding dress made entirely from cake!

Ok, so that’s probably not the most practical suggestion I’ve ever come up with, but one cake artist did just that – and created this 6-foot tall wedding gown made of cake!

I’m assuming that this item is definitely not meant to be worn, although I guess there is nothing to stop you smearing it all over yourself in the comfort of the honeymoon suite if that’s what floats your boat. Continue Reading

We all know that geek weddings are the best and this Star Wars themed wedding cake is just one of the reasons why.

This wedding cake is far more interesting and intriguing than your traditional wedding cake with it’s gumpaste Princess Leia bride and Hans Solo groom, Death Star and Millennium Falcon!

It was made by Lisa Seidling of Cake Works and consists of red velvet with white chocolate/raspberry cream filling and white chocolate buttercream covered in lashings of silver fondant. So not only does it look great, paying homage to all things Star Wars, but it sounds like it tastes pretty damn om nom nom nom too!

Award winning Minnesota cake artist Marie Porter, broke her ‘no more wedding cakes’ rule to create this wonderfully geeky Transformers wedding cake for two of her good friends who recently tied the knot.

The couple, Carrie and Otha didn’t want a traditional wedding cake (why would you, they are soooo boring) and so they approached their good friend Porter and asked her to come with something a little bit different.

Otha is an accomplished comic book artist and provided Porter with some intricate sketches of how he wanted the infamous Optimus Prime, lording it atop the cake, on one knee, instead of a ring box though, Prime would be holding a Matrix of Leadership instead.
