
It is well documented that Tokyo is an incredibly crowded city where it can prove quite a difficult challenge to find reasonable accommodation, but even by this densely populated city’s standards these coffin shaped, claustrophobe’s nightmare apartments are utterly ridiculous.
The rooms are basically a long box and look more like a spacious locker than a bedroom or a living space. They were showcased on a Japanese news program which looked into the “extremely cramped share house”. The residents interviewed would share bathrooms and kitchen space, but their living quarters are almost unbelievably small, especially when you consider what they are being charged in rent.
