Acclaimed artist Todd McFarlane’s original cover art for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ No.328 has broken the previous auction for American comics artwork and sold at auction for an astronomical $657,250/£417,353.
Formerly the record belonged to a splash page from ‘The Dark Knight Returns #3’ which sold for $448,125 (£284,848) in 2011.
The McFarlane cover was sold by Heritage Auctions and included several other pieces from the 1990s that also sold for huge amounts. It depicts Spiderman fighting The Hulk and giving him a punch in the stomach that knocks the stuffing out of him! Continue Reading
