Normally sci-fi conventions are quite peaceful affairs with people from numerous different fandoms happily co-existing with one another.

However that is not always the case and sometimes shit can get serious between rival fans! At a sci-fi convention in Norwich, UK, police had to intervene after a brawl was about to break out between Star Wars fans and Doctor Who fans from rival clubs!

More than a dozen fans, including many in cosplay, had to be separated after police were called to the scene and someone reported seeing an assault. Continue Reading

It’s unlikely that they’d be as effect as the real deal, when taking on the dark forces of the Empire, but they are like a gazillion times better than many of the commonly available lightsabers. Palotai’s lightsabers are available for sale, with the starting price at around $500. He’s also created a mind-blowingly awesome modded Millennium Falcon, but that will set you back about $1900! For cat loving Star Wars fanatics this little short is a brilliant way to kill a minute and a half of your time. It was created by YouTube channel ThePetCollective and it features our furry friends recreating a classic scene from Star Wars.

Entitled “Paw Warz – Not the Toiz you’re looking for” our brave rebel alliance pets gets pulled over by some kitteh Poop Scoopers (aka Stormtroopers) that threaten to ruin their whole entire plan. The short stars Ol’ Bengal Catoby, Duke Mousepouncer, See 3-Meow, and Boop Boop Beep Boop and it was written, directed and edited by Nicholas Fabiano.

Star Wars: A New Hope In 60 Seconds

Check out this brilliant animation created by the super talented folks at 1A4STUDIO! Entitled Speedrun (Ep #3): Star Wars, this animated short takes the integral parts of A New Hope and squishes them right down into 60 seconds of intergalactic cartoon fun. The creators muse that this is what the movie would have been like if “George Lucas was on meth”!!

It’s pretty damn amusing and there are certainly worse ways that you could spend 60 seconds of your life. I love the teeny tiny Star Wars heroes – they are sooooo cute.
