
12-year-old Damon Boyer-Marwood has been hailed a hero after he stood up to a group of schoolyard bullies who were viciously kicking and beating a small dog and rescued the injured creature.
The Wellington SPCA has said that they plan to give the boy a bravery award after his commendable actions.
LifeWithDogs reports that young Damon was on his way home from Brandon Intermediate School in Cannons Creek on Thursday when he heard the yelping of an animal in distress. He followed the sound and that was when he was met with the horrific sight of a group of children holding down a small female dog whilst they took turns in kicking her and beating her with a cricket bat.
Damon was outnumbered by these cruel bullies, but stood up to them nonetheless. At first they refused to listen to Damon’s plea to stop hurting the animal, but such was his bravery and determination that eventually they all ran off with their tails between their legs! Continue Reading
