
At the Q4 investors guidance, South Korean tech company Samsung reported some astronomically good sales figures. They claim to have sold 500 handsets per minute (working out to some 720,000 handsets sold each day) from October through to December of 2012. When the last quarter earnings report comes out later in the month, the company expects to announce making a whopping $8.3 billion.
These figures equate to incredible growth for the company, whose operating profit would have increased 89 % from this time just one year ago. The forecast marks the fifth-straight record quarterly profit!
Some experts believe that Samsung was able to stay ahead of main rivals Apple because they debuted 37 different handsets last year in comparison to Apple’s one iPhone.
