GALAXY SIII Samsung Investors Guidance Figures Report Sales Of 500 Handsets Per Minute!

At the Q4 investors guidance, South Korean tech company Samsung reported some astronomically good sales figures. They claim to have sold 500 handsets per minute (working out to some 720,000 handsets sold each day) from October through to December of 2012. When the last quarter earnings report comes out later in the month, the company expects to announce making a whopping $8.3 billion.

These figures equate to incredible growth for the company, whose operating profit would have increased 89 % from this time just one year ago. The forecast marks the fifth-straight record quarterly profit!

Some experts believe that Samsung was able to stay ahead of main rivals Apple because they debuted 37 different handsets last year in comparison to Apple’s one iPhone. The 37 different Samsung phones ranged from high-end to low-end and were released in different regions dependent on what the demographic could afford and preferred. Continue Reading

South Korean conglomerate Samsung have been working on flexible displays for smartphones and other devices that use plastic instead of glass to make their products lighter, more durable and bendable. This kind of technology is something that many similar companies like Sony for example have looked into over the years, however Samsung seem have progressed the fastest with it as the reports emerged that they are nearly ready to mass produce products that use this kind of flexible display.

Devices bearing this innovative type of flexible display were exhibited by Samsung last year, but an exact date for when the product will become commercially available has not yet been given.

A source familiar with the new type of display unit said that it was in the last phase of development and that consumers could expect to see products bearing this type of technology on the shelves in the first half of 2013 – but declined to comment on how much money Samsung have spent researching the technology. Samsung just launched a teaser video for its next flagship Android phone, the Galaxy S III, which they will officially announce on May 3rd at an event in London.

The video teaser didn’t mention anything about the new Galaxy S III, but does heavily imply that anyone who doesn’t choose a Samsung phone are just “sheep.”

This is not a good move Samsung. Not a good move.
