A self-portrait of Amy Winehouse, which the much-troubled singer painted using her own blood is to be auctioned off by her friend Pete Doherty.

Former Libertines lead singer Doherty, who like the late Winehouse, has also battled against a long-standing addiction to drugs and alcohol, will be selling the painting, which is entitled ‘Ladylike’.

There were many rumors that Doherty and Winehouse, who died tragically of accidental alcohol poisoning last year, aged just 27, were more than just friends, although reports of a romance between the pair were never confirmed.

The auction will take place at the Cob Gallery in London and features as part of an exhibition of other blood infused works painted by Doherty, entitled ‘On Blood: A Portrait of the Artist.’
It is expected that the Winehouse self-portrait will sell for more than $100,000 and Doherty has said that some of the proceeds will be donated to a foundation that was created for her.
