
Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales is the latest to throw his support behind the calls to stop 24-year-old Sheffield Hallam University student Richard O’Dwyer from being extradited to the U.S to face charges of copyright infringement and a possible 10-year jail term.
Wales has started a petition via Change.org to get UK Home Secretary Theresa May to revoke the decision to send O’Dwyer to the U.S to face these jumped up charges. His petition, which has been going just a little over a week, has already received more than 200,000 signatures.
O’Dwyer created a website called TVshack.net which, in a similar way to a search engine, linked places for people to watch movies and television online. Continue Reading
