The Pirate Bay Announces North Korea Relocation

piratebay-logo
Infamous file-sharing site The Pirate Bay, has said this week that they will be moving home from Europe and setting up shop in North Korea.

Despite the fact that North Korea is known to have a very limited internet service, TPB said in a blog post that the dictatorship of Kim Jong-un had offered the bittorrent tracker the opportunity to relocate there.

North Korea is arguably one of the most isolated countries in the entire world and it is well known for the excessive levels of control the leadership has over its people – highly censoring the media, internet and issuing strict guidelines that must be followed, even down to the way people wear their hair! north-korean-propaganda-using-elder-scrolls
You may remember the short video created by North Korean propaganda organization Uriminzokkiri, which clearly nabbed images from the video game Call Of Duty, well as if that nifty steal wasn’t enough, they’ve created another video and this time lifted the soundtrack from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

According to the translation provided by Kotaku, the text reads: “Words spoken by the United States, a country that uses the law of jungle as the law of survival for fitness, is meaningless. As a result, North Korea’s high level nuclear test conducted against American imperialist invaders is a nuclear deterrent that protects our sovereignty.”Continue Reading

Poison Pens & A Flashlight-Gun – A North Korean Assassin’s Tool Kit!

Last year South Korean authorities apprehended a would-be North Korean assassin who had crossed the border with the intention of taking out an out-spoken activist against the DPRK regime.

The South Korean authorities have now shared this man’s deadly tool-kit with the media and his weapons are like something out of James Bond film or an episode of British spy drama Spooks!

First there is the ballpoint pen, or which this particular wannabe assassin had two. One of the pens had a poison-tipped blade – the poison in question would cause muscle paralysis and death by suffocation. The second pen, held a single poisoned bullet, which if penetrates the skin would also be deadly. According to the South Korean experts, poison pens like these ones have been around for about a decade and have been seen before. However the flashlight gun that the man also had in his possession is a new contraption, one which they had not seen and which is incredibly difficult to call out as a weapon. In the video, the acutely disguised weapon is fired and it proves to be an accurate and dangerous device. Continue Reading

Mental War Propaganda From North Korea

Because North Korea are such a secretive nation with such strong isolationist policies, the rest of the world doesn’t really know a lot about what goes on inside the policy makers heads. Often the little snippets of information that do leak out of North Korea either have us shocked and appalled at the treatment the people suffer at the hands of what is one of the most dictatorial regimes in the world, or laughing out loud at the preposterous nature of their propaganda!

Well check out this war propaganda video that was recently broadcast on North Korean television; which is where it all starts to get weird – you have to wonder why the government would make a video to broadcast on television when hardly anyone in the state owns a box! A completely futile endeavor – you could say!

Even if you can’t speak Korean, which it will come as no surprise to you, that I can’t, it’s not difficult to understand the underlying message in this clip. It shows army generals doing lots of shouting whilst topless soldiers in the background flex their rippling muscles and show off their ninja moves. It is like a scene from a bad 80s ‘made for TV movie’ and it only gets worse.Continue Reading
