It doesn’t happen often, but every now and then some lucky so-and-so scouring the bargain bin at a local thrift store, swap meet, or Goodwill store will end up spending a few dollars on something that is actually worth thousands of dollars. That’s just what happened to a woman from North Carolina recently, who purchased one of the rarest video games ever sold in the U.S. for $7.99 at her local Goodwill store!

The game the woman had purchased was Stadium Events and she took to Wilder Hamm, the owner of Save Point Video Games in Charlotte, North Carolina. Continue Reading

But I think this animated Zelda cake might just take the biscuit. I would have to say that it is the most impressive themed cake that I have ever seen!

This beautiful coffee table is based on the design of an 1985 Nintendo controller, but it has a side mounted custom bison holster for a zapper that works as a Wii controller when you select the classic Nintendo on the Wii Menu.

According to the description on the Bohemian Workbench Etsy store where the table is up for sale, the zapper also vibrates and comes with a speaker to replicate the sound and feel of the original Wii controller.

Alpinedelta wanted to play Nintendo emulators on his phone and looked at commercially produced solutions to the touchscreen issue, but felt that they didn’t offer him quite enough. New Yorker Triforce Johnson, 35, recently waited nearly two weeks outside the Nintendo World Store in Midtown Manhattan to ensure that he was the first person to get his hands on the new console, the Wii U.
It would be the 8th time that he was at the front of a line for a console release, but now he says it will be his last.
Polygon’s Chris Plante recently carried out an in-depth interview with this self confessed ‘Superfan’ – calling him ‘the world’s most patient gamer’.

The interview looks into how Triforce first fell in love with computer games at the age of 4, after being given a few quarters to play on an arcade game at a grocery store. His father was trying to distract the young boy from wanting to go home because he wanted to continue talking to a friend, so he gave him the quarters and pointed him in the direction of the arcade game cabinet. Nintendo Fanboys who are eagerly awaiting the release of the new Wii U console might want to pop along to the New York Comic Con because Nintendo recently announced that playable demos will be there for fans to try out!

There will be several playable games on site at the Nintendo booth #2921 including: Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition, Game & Wario, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, Nintendo Land New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, Scribblenauts Unlimited, The Wonderful 101, and ZombiU.

For 3DS fans there is the opportunity to try out a number of different demos and a competition for players of Paper Mario: Sticker Star whereby players who receive 4 stickers get the opportunity to try and get their hands on a 5th sticker. The first 400 people to get the 5th sticker will get a larger sticker to place on Nintendo’s Sticker Star fan-created billboard. How very primary school…

The New York Comic Con opens on October 11th and runs through to the 14th.

NES Duck Hunt Gun Gets Laser Modification From North Street Labs

Those wonderful people at North Street Labs took a classic Duck Hunt light gun from the original NES and using ingenuity, a 445nm diode, some batteries and a little bit of imagination they created a Nintendo Laser gun, that no doubt many of you fantasized about owning when you were a wee nipper zapping at your TV screens whilst playing the NES!!

Watch this awesome video of the gun in action, setting alight matches from a distance and maxing out the laser meter rating meaning it’s an astonishing 2W!

Apparently, there is also a link where they show you how to create your own Nintendo laser zapper, however I am tempted to put this in the ‘do not try this at home’ category. I know if I had one of these badboys I would probably end up setting fire to the whole dang house!!
