According to the website nameberry, new parents are finding the inspiration for their children’s names from Blockbuster movie and bestselling novels Hunger Games and also from the hugely popular HBO series Game of Thrones. Many of the most popular baby names at the moment are also also being plucked from ancient Rome!

Nameberry said: “Many of the hot names relate to nature and to worlds beyond our own. And most share a transcendence of traditional gender identity, containing elements of names for the opposite gender if not crossing over to unisex territory.”

They compiled a list of some of the year’s hottest names, ones that you will probably be hearing thrown about a lot at baby showers and naming ceremonies in the coming months.
