McLaren have revealed their new car – the MP4-27, hoping that it will be the vehicle to help them to win the drivers’ and constructors’ titles.

McLaren haven’t won a constructors’ title since 1998, and their last drivers’ title came when Hamilton won it in 2008.

Red Bull has been the most successful team in recent years, winning the last two constructors’ championships. Sebastian Vettel has won the drivers’ title for the last two years running, making the 24-year-old German the youngest driver to win a double championship and a consecutive one. The McLaren team are hoping the MP4-27 will help them to end this domination!

Drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, seemed excited about the new car, which was unveiled at McLaren’s surrey base.

This season promises to be an exciting one in Formula one, with six former champions competing against one another, Kimi Raikonnen returns with Lotus to compete against other title winners – Vettel, Button, Hamilton, Schumacher and Alonso!
