Comedian Kurt Braunohler Inserts Some Absurdity Into Strangers Lives With Skywriting Kickstarter

You might remember the brilliantly bizarre Kickstarter project launched by U.S. funnyman Kurt Braunohler back in January, where he asked people to donate funds so that he could “hire a man in a plane to write stupid things with clouds in the sky.”

Describing the project, Braunohler stated: “Skywriting is crazy. We’re forcing clouds to say things. That’s inherently funny. How great would it be to look up one day and there’s a message in the sky, for no other reason other than itself. It’s not trying to sell you anything, it’s not trying to tell you something. Anonymous Documentary Director Launches Aaron Swartz Film Kickstarter!

Director Brian Knappenberger who recently filmed the documentary about online activist organization Anonymous entitled “We the Legion: The Story of the Hacktivists”, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds to create a documentary about late internet activist Aaron Swartz.

Knappenberger has set the funding goal at $75,000 and in just a day since the project was launched, it has amassed more than half of the target, raising over $39,000. Given the huge following Swartz has amongst the general internet public and his many high profile supporters, I think it’s safe to say that there are a lot of people who want to see this film made, and Knappenberger will undoubtedly reach his target! The RaveNectar Kickstarter project for bold, bright, vibrant t-shirts designed by independent artists has reached and exceeded its funding target of $42,000 but there is still a little bit of time left if you want to get your hands on one of these unique and original t-shirts.

The RaveNectar project which carries the tagline “This isn’t clothing – it’s an EXPERIENCE” was started by Jordan Lejuwaan. He got the idea to create this distinctive line of clothing after searching high and low for something gregarious to wear to the 2012 Ultra Music Festival. Contact 1 – the Incredible 200,000 Piece LEGO Masterpiece By Mike Doyle

Check out this incredible LEGO masterpiece that was created by New Jersey-based artist Mike Doyle and is entitled “Contact 1”.

Contact 1 is the first in a series of grand scale LEGO works that Doyle is working on that are intended to celebrate “extra terrestrial contact events, spiritual beings and unique worlds.”

Doyle’s epically detailed, intricate creation is 5ft in height and 6ft in width. It uses more than 200,000 individual pieces and took more than 600 hours to put together. Continue Reading
