The German Sparkasse Chemnitz Bank has started issuing a credit card that carries the image of the big daddy of socialism, Karl Marx – now if that’s not irony, I really don’t know what is!
It was actually the general public’s choice to put Marx’s image on the card, the bank carried out a vote offering customers the option of 10 images that could appear on their personal MasterCards. The image of the renowned German philosopher, economist, sociologist and revolutionary won in a landslide victory!

A Reuters report suggests that the location of the bank might hold the answer as to why Marx’s image was chosen. It is located in the eastern side of the country – the part of course that used to be a communist state! Continue Reading
