New App From Florian Kräutli That Can Turn Any Surface Into A Keyboard For Your iPhone

This ingenious new app from Florian Kräutli uses an iPhone’s Accelerometer to pick up the location of a tap and translate this information into typed letters on a keyboard – meaning that you can turn pretty much any surface into a keyboard for your iPhone!

He has called it the Vibrative Virtual Keyboard and it works by using the accelerometer to measure vibrations on a surface which are then mapped by Kräutli’s software. The software picks up the point of origin of the tap and enables the phone to “see” where you are tapping away. This means that your surface can become a QWERTY keyboard for your iPhone!

You can read more about Kräutli’s app here. Continue Reading

The Anti-Instagram App: Normalize Strips Off Hipster Filters to Reveal the Real Deal

Normalize App

There are basically two types of iPhone photographers: those who love Instagram, and those who hate it. While there are a number of Instagram alternatives readily available in the App Store, the problem is that they all basically do the same thing, which is add filters and effect so you’ll end up with a vintage-looking snapshot.

Gliph Gives You Disposable Email Addresses So You Can Stay Anonymous

Gliph

While Burner gives you some added security so you can keep your mobile number private, Gliph gives you all the anonymity you’ll ever need for email. You can choose to create a dozen or so other email addresses on different providers, since there are many domains out there that provide free email services, but the process is time consuming and extremely inconvenient.

On the other hand, Gliph is a free service that allows you to send cloaked emails through its Cloaked Email feature, which ‘cloaks’ your email address every time you send and reply to an email so you actual address isn’t revealed.

Burner iOS App Creates Disposable Numbers So You Can be a Creeper

Burner

Nobody wants to be a creeper. But if for some reason you have a need for disposable numbers, then you’ll be glad to know that there is now an app for that: Burner. No need to buy SIM cards by the dozen anymore, because this app will create temporary and fully-functional numbers for you, whenever you need them.

The app is described as something that can add a ‘layer of privacy’ for your phone by providing it with ‘alias phone numbers.’ Of course, that’s what the app and service will turn out to be–if people use it the right way. Let’s just hope it won’t give stalkers or creepers free reign to make crank calls and scare the crap out of their unwilling targets.

3DCone Turns Your iPhone Into a 3D Camera

The iPhone has definitely become more than just a smartphone, partly because of all the apps and accessories that people keep making for it. Like the 3DCone by Saturn3DDesign, for instance.

It’s an add-on that will turn your iPhone into a stereoscopic camera so you can shoot photos and videos that are rendered in 3D. It’s pretty easy to use, too. Simply snap the 3DCone onto your phone, shoot stuff, and process the footage using the included app and you’re good to go.
