Nathaniel Boggess and Jason Eksuzian’s ‘I Miss Drugs’ is a web series of short videos that explore the life of “aging hipsters.” It is a little sad, a little depressing and a little funny as you are given a birdseye view inside the protagonist’s mundane lifestyle.
The series so far consists of 4 episodes that run for just over a minute each. The main character in them really pulls off the slightly deranged, distant look of someone who has probably ingested far too many mind-altering substances in the halcyon days of his youth.
One episode explores the excitement of purchasing a new crochet pillow being dulled by the dilemma of how to make it fit in with the rest of the décor in the home. Another elaborates on splashing out a little bit more money for that super awesome trashcan. Yup, basically all the tragically mundane things that occur in the life of sensible grown-ups.
The ‘I Miss Drugs’ Twitter account elaborates on the concept further and has some very humorous tweets indeed.
Definitely an interesting concept that is worth a look-see! Continue Reading
