R2-D2 Birthday Cake That Projects Hologram Of Princess Leia Delivering Infamous Message

Writing for this site, I’ve seen some pretty damn incredible popular culture inspired cakes. Some of those are made by professionals, others are made by dedicated family members who will go to great lengths just to see a smile on their loved ones face!

But I can honestly say that I haven’t seen anything quite as impressive as this R2-D2 birthday cake which as well as being an awesome recreation of that loveable droid, also projects a hologram of Princess Leia delivering that infamous message! The Rise of the Nerds: Twenty Geeky Bars

Us geeks love the chance to get together and socialize with one another, be it about gaming, cosplay, fandoms, roleplaying, literature, you name it. Truthfully, we can geek out just about anywhere and be perfectly content, but who doesn’t want to have a truly geektastic place to meet up at with all your friends? That’s where these geeky bars come in. These twenty bars off a wonderful place to socially convene, be it for drinks with your pals or perhaps a bit of game playing. As someone who’s been to one of these bars (Ground Kontrol), let me just personally endorse the notion that there is nothing more fun than playing a video game with your best friend, where you’re both killing zombies while simultaneously drinking beers, all in a bar setting. If Ground Kontrol was that much fun, then I can only guess that the other bars are just as awesome.

How To Convince Your Friends To Come With You To See ‘The Avengers’

Geeks, Assemble!

The Avengers opens nationwide in the United States tomorrow, May 4th, and geeks and comic book fans around the country will be lining up at movie theaters for midnight showings tonight to see the highly anticipated superhero film as soon as it debuts.

Non-geeks and those who are not fans of superhero or comic book movies may not be particularly interested or excited about seeing The Avengers on the big screen, but you may find yourself in a position where you’re attempting to persuade someone who just doesn’t understand how awesome this movie will be to go with you.

For those geeks and fans who are in a relationship with someone who doesn’t care about the movie, or even if you’re just trying to get some of your non-geek friends to come along, we have some advice that we think might help.
