Check out this brilliant piece of fan art created by artist Jenny Parks, who has reimagined all your favorite Avengers heroes as cats!!

Parks gave our much loved, world-saving heroes Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Hawkeye and Hulk the feline makeover and while they might not seem quite as menacing as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo, I bet you still wouldn’t fancy running into them down a dark alley! Nor moving their dinner dish before they’d quite finished!!

Awesome FanArt: DC & Marvel Best Buddies As Imagined By Darren Rawlings

Most comic book fans will at some stage or another have wondered what would happen if the worlds of DC and Marvel collided. Which characters would be allies, which would be formidable foes and which ones would be besties!

Artist Darren Rawlings is one person who often found himself wondering who would be best buddies and so he put together the “Little Friends” series of drawings.

“Little Friends” is an adorably cute series that showcases these possible DC and Marvel friendships along with a little caption that sums up the character’s relationship.

Twenty-five Pieces of Amazing Breaking Bad Fan Art

breakingbad24 Twenty five Pieces of Amazing Breaking Bad Fan Art
I’ve been having major Breaking Bad withdrawals lately. With the show returning on July 14th, we’re still about four months away from getting the much anticipated conclusion to this award winning show.

To temper this need for more Heisenberg, blue meth, and Saul’s crazy suits, I went ahead and found twenty-five truly amazing pieces of Breaking Bad fan art. These pieces of fan art showcase Walter White’s descent into villainy, Walt and Jesse’s always shaky relationship, and the ensemble cast of this stellar show. While this fan art may never truly replace the show, these pieces of artwork make for a fine substitute. (And hey, at least Game of Thrones and Doctor Who are both coming back at the end of March. That should keep me plenty distracted for the next couple months.)Continue Reading

Awesome Bag End Hobbit-Hole Made Using 2,600 Balloons

bagendballoon Awesome Bag End Hobbit Hole Made Using 2,600 Balloons

Balloon artist Jeremy Telford really loves The Hobbit, as you can probably tell by the balloon-built replica of Bilbo Baggins’ wonderful Hobbit-hole Bag End.

Telford, who lives in Pleasant Grove in Utah spent 40 hours transforming what looks like his living room into Tolkien’s infamous hobbit hole and used 2,600 balloons to do it!!

The balloon Bag End has a roaring fire, chairs, chandeliers, crockery and a mass of other furniture – Telford even covers the walls with balloons to give it that authentic hobbit-hole feel! It’s just a shame he didn’t make a balloon Bilbo and a balloon Gandalf to sit there smoking Pipeweed. Actually scratch that, it might be a bit of a fire hazard!

This fantastic time-lapse video shows Telford in action – it really is amazing to watch it take shape, and there I was thinking that balloons were only good for making sausage dogs and poodles!! This guy definitely proved me wrong on that one!! He even reads an infamous passage from The Hobbit which describes exactly how a Hobbit-hole should be near the end of the clip!

If you liked what you see and fancy getting creative with balloons, then you might be interested to know that Telford has published a book entitled Balloonology that gives you step by step instructions on how to be a balloon artist.Continue Reading

Game of Thrones House Flag Parodies

housecorleone 587x1024 Game of Thrones House Flag Parodies

Everyone loves a good parody of their favorite television show, movie, or book, whether its done through the use of videos, cosplay, or fan art. Miguel Lokia (Lokiable on deviantart) has recently been making house flags for some of his favorite fictional characters, replicating the flags seen on the hit television (and book) series, Game of Thrones. Miguel has taken memorable words and phrases from characters and attached them with whatever object is most important to the stories the characters come from, creating house flags for each of them. He has created a slew of wonderful artwork already that gives the same feeling Game of Thrones does, ranging anywhere from Batman to House (the House one being, by far, the best and funniest). Heck, even Chuck Norris gets his own flag.

We’ve highlighted some of Miguel’s best work below the jump, but if you’re interested in seeing more make sure to check out his gallery over on his deviantart.Continue Reading

Superheroes Reimagined as Manatees

Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Supermanatee!

Joel Micah Harris (jharris on Deviantart) has gone and created some amazing pieces of fan art, which portray superheroes as manatees. It’s a little bizarre and utterly random, but you can’t deny that his pictures aren’t amazingly wonderful (not to mention hilarious). Manatees get a lot of grief for being not overly intelligent, but that doesn’t mean they don’t look great when dressed up as Hawkeye or Wonder Woman.

Below are seven amazing pieces of fan art of manatee superheroes, though there are many more that can be found at Joel’s deviantart. You can also go onto Joel’s Red Bubble account if you’d like to own prints, T-shirts, or stickers of his artwork.Continue Reading
