According to an article in the Times of Israel, a man from southern Israel has divorced his wife after she brought a staggering 550 pet cats into their home, and no, that isn’t a typo, that is actually five hundred and fifty felines!

What makes matters even worse is that the man isn’t a massive feline fan either and even if he was, I’m still inclined to feel a little sorry for the guy. We all love kitteh’s but let’s take a reality check here, 550 cats in one household doesn’t leave a whole lot of room for anything else – and that’s a hell of a lot of catshit to be cleared up! There must be hairballs rolling round that house bigger than John Wayne movie tumbleweeds!

At the Rabbinical Court in Beersheba the pussy-whipped gentleman explained that he could not sleep in his own bedroom because the bed that the couple shared was constantly covered with cats who apparently felt it was perfectly within their rights to entirely hog the mattress. He also struggled to access the bathroom and whenever he sat down to eat a meal, the riotous felines would leap up and steal the food from his plate. Can you imagine trying to eat dinner around 550 moggies – you wouldn’t have a snowballs chance in hell of beating those feisty felines to the smoked kippers!!
As is usually the case when couples file for divorce at a rabbinical court, it is advised that they attempt reconciliation. However in this particular case, the wife made it perfectly clear that she would much rather part ways with her husband than give up her beloved feline friends!
