Getting a credit card can be risky business, sure they are great when you need a little bit of extra cash to supplement your salary – but it is all too easy to miss payments and get flayed alive by the interest.

Well now there might be a way for the more spendthrift in society to enjoy the advantages of a credit card, but stay on top of the payments – the Darth Vader Visa Card!! I mean, what better way to encourage someone to pay their bills on time than to have the image of the Dark Lord there glaring ominously at them every single time they open their wallet or purse!

Don’t miss a payment or you can expect to feel his powerful fingers grasped around your throat in that legendary chokehold!! Take the piss too much and he’ll come round to your house with an army of Stormtroopers, kidnap your kids, sell your pets on the black market and turn your wife into Jabba the Hut!

Unfortunately however, the Darth Vader Visa Card is currently only available in Japan. We can but hope however that it will soon come to our shores and we can reap the benefits of having our souls (and bank accounts) owned by the Empire!

Russia’s Sberbank in Kazakhstan has recently announced that they plan to issue a very exclusive credit card, one that only the very wealthiest members of society are able to afford!
The ‘Visa Infinite Exclusive’ card will be one of the most extravagant cards around and the materials used to create it prove this. This elegant card is the world’s first to be made entirely out of gold, diamonds and pearls.

Errrm, is this the same Kazakhstan that Borat hails from?

It has been reported that if you want to get your mitts on the ‘Visa Infinite Exclusive’ you will have to be willing to fork out a hefty $100,000 – $65,000 of which will be used to mint the card and the rest will be put on your balance.
It has also been rumored that people who purchase the limited edition card will be given a free iPhone 5 and a Montblanc card case. They can also expect top tier benefits like health and life insurance worth more than $250,000, lounge access at airports, concierge services and discounts at hotels and restaurants. I’m not quite sure why you’d be bothered about hotel or restaurant discounts if you’ve got $100,000 to fork out on a credit card encrusted with diamonds but anyways! Continue Reading

The German Sparkasse Chemnitz Bank has started issuing a credit card that carries the image of the big daddy of socialism, Karl Marx – now if that’s not irony, I really don’t know what is!
It was actually the general public’s choice to put Marx’s image on the card, the bank carried out a vote offering customers the option of 10 images that could appear on their personal MasterCards. The image of the renowned German philosopher, economist, sociologist and revolutionary won in a landslide victory!

A Reuters report suggests that the location of the bank might hold the answer as to why Marx’s image was chosen. It is located in the eastern side of the country – the part of course that used to be a communist state! Continue Reading
