How To Play The Most Complicated Board Game Ever!!

Check out this segment from The Mythical Show that features a new player trying to pick up how to play an exceptionally complicated board game!!

Created by Rhett & Link, the piece is obviously a tongue-in-cheek swipe at the fact that many role-playing tabletops can be incredibly hard to follow especially for outsiders and that many of the rules seem nonsensical and downright silly!
From DNA samples to milking oneself, the regurgitation of waybread and the release of a bandit (in a gimp mask) this poor guy has really let himself in for it!!

I think he would have had more luck trying to play a game of Monopoly in Mordor with some Uruk-hai!!

Doctor Who Chess: The Ultimate Fight over the Safety of the Universe

If bow ties are cool and fezzes are cool, then chess must be cool as well.

Emmi Visser, EldalinSkywalker on deviantart, created two Doctor Who chess sets for the world’s enjoyment. On each set the boards run at 31 x 31 cm. The pieces are all made from polymer clay, with the tallest pieces being 7 cm and the smallest standing at about 3 cm.

These chess sets allow you to play as either the heroes of Who or the forces of evil. The first chess set, shown above, depicts a combination of characters from series three and four of Doctor Who. We get the Master, Cassandra, Cybermen, Weeping Angels, and many more on one side, and then the Doctor, River, Oods, Captain Jack, and more on the other.Continue Reading

Beautifully Crafted Game Of Thrones RISK Set

Artist Fay Helfer made this beautiful Game of Thrones version of Risk complete with an engraved wooden box, a wood-carved map of Westeros, and cloth pouches to hold the game pieces.

It was made as a commission for Matt B. Dear Matt B, I’m all jealous now, but hopefully Helfer’s version will spur the Parker Brothers to make an officially licensed version.

I’d buy it straight away.Continue Reading
