Check out this totally amazing Road Runner cake created by Pirikos Cake Design. Looking at it is pretty much like staring straight at a scene from the classic Looney Tunes Road Runner cartoons.

It’s managed to capture the narrative brilliantly and includes Wile E. Coyote’s destined-to-be-doomed blueprint plan to catch the illusive Road Runner and shows how it all goes wrong. If you look closely, the hapless coyote has somehow managed to light his own tale instead of the fuse on the ACME rocket he is sat astride. All the while, the cheeky Road Runner looks on amused, completely confident that the clumsy Wile E. Coyote will never catch him! Continue Reading

We feature a lot of incredibly impressive cakes on Buzz Patrol, some are inspired by cult movies or TV shows, others feature infamous comic book characters or gaming heroes and heroines. But I think this animated Zelda cake might just take the biscuit. I would have to say that it is the most impressive themed cake that I have ever seen!

The masterpiece was created by Will Turnbow and his wife for their daughter’s 10th birthday and I think it’s fair to say that she is one incredibly lucky young lady. Continue Reading

Check out this deliciously awesome Batman LEGO Cake that was created by the extremely talented cake artists at Mike’s Amazing Cakes.
Standing 36 inches tall, the Batman caked crusader minifig is a little bigger than your average minifig, but he’s made of deliciously tasty cake so we don’t think anyone will mind!

Now we just need LEGO Gotham City made out of cake so he’s got a place to protect and we can gorge ourselves on the huge edible landscape!

Check out this gorgeous photographic cake with a wonderful image of a USB stick surrounded by lashings of yummy whipped cream.
Whilst we have to admire the accuracy of the image, the cake wasn’t actually intended for a computer geek who loves USB sticks so much that a loving family member decided to get a picture of one on their birthday cake.

It doesn’t take a genius to work out what actually happened. The photo that was supposed to go on the cake was on the USB stick, but whoever took the order at the bakery might have had one too many chocolate liqueurs that morning and wasn’t really paying attention!

This fantabulous Doctor Who cake was created by Yumei at Cake Central and is a chocolate cake with whipped cream and chocolate ganache filling.

Yumei even fitted an LED to the top of the tardis to ensure that it lights up, just like the real thing, though we don’t think it makes a VRORP VRORP noise unfortunately!

I suppose there is no better way to protect such a marvelously detailed creation than with one of those sneaky Weeping Angels, who will no doubt ensure that no one gets too close to the cake before the birthday girl Paige is ready! Continue Reading

Cake artists Miss Cakehead were recently commissioned to play their part in the launch of the horror movie The Helpers by Koch Media.

This involved creating some gruesomely disturbing cakes and cocktails inspired by the 2012 horror movie that sees a group of friends stumble upon a murderous trio in an off-the-beaten-track motel.

There are some incredibly horrible masterpieces in the collection that was made for The Helpers launch, the scarily realistic-looking amputated head probably being the most gruesome of the lot.

Usually, the problem I find with awesomely artistic cake pieces like the numerous Star Wars, LOTR or BTTF ones that I frequently stumble across, is that you feel bad destroying the artwork when it comes round to eating them. Well that won’t be a problem in this case, because these cakes are so entirely gross that they will turn your stomach so much you won’t want to eat them! Continue Reading
