Fully Restored The DeLorean Is Back! Doc & Marty’s Time Machine Is Now Fully Restored To Original Glory
The restoration project on the original DeLorean that helped Doc Brown and Marty McFly become time travelers in the cult movie ‘Back to the Future’ has finally come to a close and the revered vehicle is now on display at Universal Studios in Hollywood.
The ‘Time Machine Restoration Project’ has gone on for more than a year now, but this week the announcement was finally made – the DeLorean is back and fully restored to its original glory.

The so-called “Hero A” car is one 3 models that were used during the filming of the 1985 hit movie that stared Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd as an unlikely time-travelling duo. The “Hero A” DeLorean was used primarily for shots that included the actors, whereas models B and C were deployed for stunts or close up interior shots. Continue Reading

The Infamous DeLorean Imagined As A Traditional N.Y.C Yellow Cab

DeLorean cab The Infamous DeLorean Imagined As A Traditional N.Y.C Yellow Cab

The traditional yellow taxi cab is as iconic to New York City as Back To The Future’s time-travelling vehicle, the DeLorean is to popular culture, which is one of the reasons why this merger created by designer Mike Lubrano is so damn epic.

He has taken the memorable color and many of the fittings of a traditional N.Y.C taxi cab and imposed them onto the iconic and much-loved, gull-winged vehicle from the popular 1980s movie saga.

Lubrano created the image as an advertisement for his firm Nooka – a New York-based fashion brand. He said he was inspired to create the piece because automobiles have “come to symbolize the future” and because he believes it represents Nooka’s “futuristic philosophy.” Well, it doesn’t get much more futuristic than the DeLorean really, does it? Awesome Halloween Costumes: This Lucky Boy Got To Go ‘Back To The Future’!

Marty McFly Awesome Halloween Costumes: This Lucky Boy Got To Go ‘Back To The Future’!

Check out this awesomely cute Halloween costume made for 1-year-old Cooper by his super-cool parents. This has got to be one of the best homemade Halloween kiddie’s costumes ever.

I bet little Cooper had a ridiculous amount of fun in his time-travelling DeLorean and was the envy of all the other kids in the neighborhood.

According to Cooper’s mom, the idea for the costume was born after her husband made a casual comment about the red puffy vest that Cooper already owned – mentioning that it looked rather a lot like the infamous vest worn by Marty McFly in ‘Back To The Future.’
Mom said she had always loved the movies and spent her childhood attending car shows with her father, so she decided that Cooper would spend his first Halloween as Marty McFly cruising along collecting candy in a DeLorean!

Using a $25 Step2push car, she set to work transforming the toy into the brilliant DeLorean replica you see pictured. She used cardboard, tape and paint and her husband helped with the EL lighting on the masterpiece!

What a wickedly cute costume!! Continue Reading

Back To The Future: A DeLorean & Monster Truck Hybrid!

delorean monster truck Back To The Future: A DeLorean & Monster Truck Hybrid!

When Marty McFly and Doc Brown went Back To The Future in the DeLorean DMC-12 that was converted into a time machine, the car instantly secured its place in popular culture forever.

If the car hadn’t been used in the iconic films, the chances are that the unique vehicle would have probably faded into anonymity, however even the dizzy heights of fame brought about by the movie was not enough to stop the DeLorean Motor Company from halting production in 1982.

Nowadays, some 30 years after production of the iconic car ceased, it is believed that there are just over 6,000 of them on the roads. Many of them belong to Back To The Future fans and are kept as a shining memento from a beloved film and I’m sure there are a few people out there who have even tried to convert their DeLorean’s into a machine that can traverse the space-time continuum (I’m hoping at least a couple of these have succeeded).Continue Reading

Mastermind Responsible For ‘Back To The Future’ Hoax Claims It Was Accident

back to the future Mastermind Responsible For ‘Back To The Future’ Hoax Claims It Was Accident

The man responsible for creating Wednesday’s ‘Back to the Future’ day image has confessed to his sins, but is claiming that the whole thing was an accident.

Steve Berry, who is a social media manager for the mobile checkout company Simply Tap, photoshopped the image of the DeLorean’s clock to read June 27 2012 – Wednesday’s date, and his image went surging around the internet at the speed of light. Well, maybe not quite that fast, but it did get thousands of shares and a multitude of comments.

The actual ‘future day’ on the time-travelling car’s counter read Oct. 21 2015, as many of you ardent ‘Back to the Future’ fans will know. But Berry claims that he never intended to try and fool anyone with the new date and that it was an advertising ploy meant to promote the ‘Back to the Future’ trilogy Blu-ray box set for a client.

Berry explained to Mashable.com that he altered the image in reference to the 5 July 2010 hoax that was stated by Total Film and went viral. He said: “We promoted the image fully confident in the knowledge that everyone was familiar with the original hoax from a couple of years ago…We figured that no one would fall for the same joke twice, so the caption was deliberately replicated it word for word so people would get the reference.”

Sounds honest enough I suppose, what do you reckon? Should we let him off the hook?
