Miniature Melbourne – A Tilt-Shift, Time-Lapse Short By Nathan Kaso

Australian photographer Nathan Kaso created this brilliant and visually astounding tilt-shift time-lapse short film, entitled Miniature Melbourne that makes Australia’s second most populated city look like a tiny model replica!

Kaso spent 10 months gathering the footage for this breathtaking video and much of it was shot from the Eureka Skydeck atop Melbourne’s tallest building.

I visited Melbourne a few years ago and thought it was an absolutely amazing place, I think Kaso’s video captures it in all its glory and it is fascinating to see this bustling metropolis through the tilt-shift time-lapse! It really does make it look like a tiny model filled with miniscule little people, buildings and vehicles! Continue Reading

Australian Press Reports That Assange Is Running For Senate

Julian Assange politic Australian Press Reports That Assange Is Running For Senate

According to reports from the Australian Press WikiLeaks’ controversial leader Julian Assange has filed the paperwork necessary to run for Senate in the state of Victoria. Assange would be running for office as a member of the newly formed WikiLeaks party.
The Age said; “Assange’s application for electoral enrolment in Victoria was handed to the Australian Electoral Commission in Melbourne yesterday by WikiLeaks supporters including his father, Sydney architect John Shipton, who has been active in the initial organization of the party.”

Unless the Australian press has got it totally wrong – which is unlikely, these reports confirm the rumor that started a little while back that Assange was thinking about running for the Senate. Apparently there has not yet been an application submitted for the new political party, however it seems as though Assange is eligible to run, even though he has not been back to the country where he was born since 2010.Continue Reading
