Check out these totally awesome Star Wars-themed glass terrariums created by Minnesota-based artist Tony Larson. Ranging in size from 5 to 7 inches in diameter these fantastical glass orbs capture some of the best scenes from the Star Wars movies featuring iconic characters like Yoda, R2-D2 and those adorable little Ewoks!
Larson places the characters into their glass worlds, hand-carves the terrain and custom makes the fake landscapes which require very little maintenance “only love” in the words of the artist himself. They can sit on a shelf or hang suspended in the air from a small wire connected to a hook.
There is a lot of Star Wars inspired art and home décor available on the market and there has been for years, people just can’t seem to get enough of those epic, intergalactic space battle to end all space battle movies. But there is definitely something special and a little bit magical about Larson’s terrariums – it is almost as if he has captured a part of the film and trapped it in glass for our pleasure. I need these in my life!
