
Blonde haired, blue-eyed Dutch actor Rutger Hauer is reported to be joining the cast of True Blood and his character will make his first appearance in season 6 of the HBO’s hit series.
According to TV Line, Hauer will play the character Macklyn who they describe as a “mysterious and sinister figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason.”
Hauer has been in numerous hit movies during his 40-year film and television career – although he is probably best remembered for his portrayal of Roy Batty in Ridley Scott’s Bladerunner – he also made notable appearances in Batman Begins and Sin City to name but a few.
He’s also no stranger to film and television centered on the adventures of vampires, having played the character of Lothos in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (film not series) and starred in Salem’s lot and Dracula III: Legacy.
He also plays the role of notorious vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing in Dario Argento’s Dracula 3D which will be coming soon.
