Residents of Linz, Austria Treated to Record Breaking Quadrocopter Show

Residents of Linz in Austria were recently treated to the breathtaking sight of a record breaking show of 50 synchronized quadrocopters lighting up the night sky with their dazzling movements and spectacular colors.

The event was called “The Cloud in the Web” and had 50 AscTec Hummingbird quadrocopters using radio signals to communicate and put on the stunning show you can see in the video.

The quadrocopters were programmed by a team which included employees from Ars Electronica Futurelab and Ascending Technologies GmbH. It is believed that 50 quadrocopters that took part in the Linz event breaks the world record for the highest number of quadrocopters in sync at one time.

You’ve got to admit that it’s pretty impressive!

I wonder if anyone who didn’t know about the show taking place mistook the brightly colored flying orbs for UFOs and thought their town was in the midst of an alien invasion!
