The renowned Russian graffiti artist Pasha P183, who was referred to by many as the Russian Banksy, because he too hid his real identity and created work with social and political messages, has died aged just 29!
The Teatralnoye Delo theatrical production company, who recently commissioned Pasha P183 to design the scenery for their musical production “Todd” said that the controversial street artist had passed away in Moscow on Monday, but wouldn’t give any further details about his death. Continue Reading

40 years ago today, on the 3rd April 1973 Motorola engineer Marty Cooper made a historic phone call – it was the first ever public call made from a cell phone from midtown Manhattan.
Choosing the recipient of the call wisely, Cooper rang a man named Joel Engel, the head of rival research department Bell Labs. When Engel answered Cooper announced “Joel, this is Marty. I’m calling you from a cell phone, a real handheld portable cell phone”!! This phone call informed Bell Labs that Motorola had won the race to create the cell phone and it was placed on a Motorola DynaTAC 8000x. The Motorola handset that Cooper used to place that very first public call is almost unrecognizable from the devices that we use today – it weighed in at 2.5 pounds, far heavier than the 4-5 ounce handsets available today. Samoa Air has dumped its previous pricing structure and adopted a new system that will see customers charged a fair that is calculated on their body weight! So bad news for peeps with wider waist lines – those extra pounds will now end up costing you extra pounds!
As part of the new system, passengers are obligated to enter their body weight as well as the weight of their baggage when booking a flight. This weight is then combined and a fare is calculated based on the figure and the destination. The entered figures will then be verified at the airport to stop people trying to lie about their weight (well it wouldn’t be the first time someone tried to tell porkies about being porky). A Chinese engineer who runs a hard drive repair and data recovery center has created a DIY candy floss machine using an old hard disk. The photos that show the process he followed to create the modded device were hugely popular and it has become a bit of an internet sensation!
According to the instructions, all you need to create this homemade candy floss machine is a hard drive that can still power up, 6 bicycle spokes, a plastic basin, an aluminum can and a round flat metal tin. Continue Reading
