Twitter are rolling out a new feature that will give users access to every single tweet (and retweet) that they made since they joined the social media microblogging platform.

The new archive feature has an interface that allows users to access the archive by months or search using keywords, hashtags, usernames or phrases. It is scheduled to be operational within the next few weeks.

Users who are interested in reliving their tweet history have been told to go to setting and check the option requesting their Twitter archive. If it is there, click the button and an email with instructions on how to access the archive will be sent out once it is ready for downloading. Continue Reading

In fact, the talons of golden eagle can exert up to 750 pounds of pressure per square inch when they are grasping at their prey. That’s about 15 times the pressure that a human hand can exert!

Archaeologists have unearthed a 1,400-year-old Kofun warrior still wearing his armor at Japan’s Kanai Higashiura site – the place that is often called the “Pompeii of Japan.”

Historians and archeologists believe that the Kanai Higashiura site was buried by the eruption of the Harunayama Futatsudake volcano in the early 500s. Nearby sites at Kuroimine and Nakasuji were also struck and this has led to them being dubbed the “Pompeii of Japan.”

This latest find of the ancient warrior, who was discovered with a nearby infant were covered in a layer of volcanic ash that dates back to the early 6th century. The warrior was found lying face down in the direction of the volcano, archaeologists believe that it is likely that he fell forward from a kneeling position. Continue Reading

Htmlist’s Chris Cardinal has written a detailed account of what he believes to be a “replacement order scam” striking Amazon.
Cardinal is, by his own admission a regular Amazon user and first released that something fishy was going on with his account after receiving emails regarding online chats with customer service reps.

After some investigation, Cardinal discovered that he was a victim of what he has dubbed the “two-for-one Amazon.com’s socially engineered replacement order scam.”

By gaining access to his order numbers, some sneaky person managed to order “replacement” products of things he had ordered and received successfully, including some incredibly expensive camera equipment. Continue Reading

Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom has released a statement via the company blog that seeks to clarify some of the policy changes that have caused such uproar amongst the Instagram community in the last few days.

In the post, entitled “Thank you, and we’re listening” Systrom explains that the company appreciate the concerns raised by users over the amendments to the terms of use and are doing all that they can to try and address these issues.

On the issue of advertising, the part of the clause that everyone took to mean that Instagram would have the right to sell your photos without notification or compensation, Systrom says that this is not the case. Blaming “confusing” legal language, Systrom states that the company merely intends to “experiment with innovative advertising that feels appropriate on Instagram…To be clear: It is not our intention to sell your photos”.
