Olympic and Paralympic hero Oscar Pistorius aka Blade Runner wept as he stood before South African prosecutors on Friday when they announced they intended to charge him with premeditated murder.

Now the man who is undoubtedly the most famous disabled athlete in the world and who has been an inspiration to millions of people, faces life imprisonment if convicted.

Pistorius’ girlfriend, South African model Reeva Steenkamp died of gunshot wounds on Valentine’s Day at his luxurious Silver Woods gated community home in Pretoria. Initially many media reports suggested that Pistorius mistook her for a burglar as home invasions in South Africa are a serious problem, however police said they were surprised by this angel of reports and hinted that there had been incidents of a domestic nature at the Pistorius home before. Frightening Video That Shows Damage Done To Buildings During Russia’s Meteor Blast

This disturbing video shows some of the damage done to buildings during the meteor blast that took place earlier this morning over the Chelyabinsk region near the Ural Mountains.

In one segment, two office workers are stood around casually having a laugh, probably slagging off their boss for all we know and then KABLAM, the windows get blown out causing them both to fall to their knees, before they get up and run out of the room.
After that, we cut to what looks like a warehouse which has its door blown open by the huge force of the blast.

Those people must have been terrified, one minute they are just chilling out at work, getting ready to switch their computers on and surf the net for cat videos and then the next minute all the windows have been blown out and the whole place is covered in shards of broken glass!

According to the latest reports, the number of those who sustained injuries as a result of the meteor that exploded in the Russian skies earlier today has risen to approximately 1,000 including 200 children.

The majority of those injuries were caused by cuts from glass as blast caused it to shatter in thousands of buildings located in the Chelyabinsk region of Russia, near the Ural Mountains.

Space.com, citing figures obtained from Russian Emergency Ministry said that nearly 300 buildings were damaged, including 12 schools and 6 hospitals. However CNN citing figures more recently obtained from state-run Russian news agency RIA Novosti, placed that figure substantially higher at 3,000. The news agency said 20,000 emergency response workers had been mobilized to respond to the meteor blast. Continue Reading

This morning a meteorite exploded over the Ural Mountains near the remote Russian region of Chelyabinsk, injuring hundreds as the glass in numerous buildings shattered.

The incident occurred at 9:20 am local time and shocking footage was captured by numerous dashcams and mobile phone cameras.

In the numerous different videos you can clearly see a huge fireball illuminating the sky as it soars across the horizon, leaving a thick white trail in its wake. Emergency officials said: “We have information about a blast at 10,000-metre altitude. It is being verified.”Continue Reading

This video footage is from the recent tour of North America by the Japanese Robot Theater Project and features excerpts from two plays, “I, Worker” and “Sayonara”. In the plays, robot actors share the stage with their human counterparts, reciting their pre-recorded lines while the human actors do their bit.

Both plays are set in the future where androids are commonplace – “Sayonara” explores the relationship between a dying girl and her humanoid android played by a “Gemnoid F”.
