Donkey Kong Shelves Now All This Donkey Kong Shelf Needs is Mario and the Princess

Before Mario, there was Donkey Kong. You might remember playing a round of two of Donkey Kong down at your local arcade in the 1980s, when he first hit the gaming scene. Donkey Kong was one angry gorilla who hurled barrels targeting Mario (who was known as Jumpman back then) as he climbed ladders and hopped his way to save his princess.

To commemorate Mario’s humble beginnings and the first addictive game to hit the market, designer Igor Chak drew up this concept of a Donkey Kong-inspired shelf, complete with ladders and rails on the shelves to boot. He envisions the individual sections as being crafted with light carbon fiber with anodized aluminum pixels and steel rods holding the entire thing together.

Now these glass-topped shelves aren’t available on the market, but with a little effort and a lot of ingenuity, you can actually set off to start building your own.
