There are basically two types of iPhone photographers: those who love Instagram, and those who hate it. While there are a number of Instagram alternatives readily available in the App Store, the problem is that they all basically do the same thing, which is add filters and effect so you’ll end up with a vintage-looking snapshot.
But whether you love it or hate it, Instagram is crazy popular. The haters have had nothing to cling on to ever since the app hit the scene–until now, in the form of Normalize.

Developed by Joe Macirowski, Normalize will strip off the retro filters applied on any photo so you’ll end up with what it’s supposed to look like. It’s not limited for Instagram shots either, because you can use it to ‘normalize’ any of your photos that might have turned out too dark or too yellow.
Macirowski says: “Instagram certainly isn’t new, and its actually an app I enjoy, but every now and again, I encounter a picture in the real world where someone decides it’s a good idea to use it when trying to take a picture of something they’re legitimately trying to show.”
I wonder how Facebook feels about this anti-Instagram app. Normalize is available on the iTunes App Store for $0.99.
