Thomas Parkin New York’s Norman Bates Wannabe Accused In Fraud Scam

Just when you thought it was safe to go into the bathroom without checking behind the shower-curtain, Buzz Patrol is bringing you some eerie news about a Brooklyn man who has been dressing like his mother for the past six years!

Sporting a blonde wig, dress and lipstick 51-year old Thomas Prusik Parkin impersonated his mother much like the infamous Hitchcock villain Norman Bates! Ok so Parkin might not be the manager of a creepy backstreet motel where beautiful blonde secretaries are brutally murdered in the bathtub, but his story is still rather disturbing and the Brooklyn man is facing jail-time over some serious fraud allegations.

Parkin is on trial at the Brooklyn Supreme Court, accused of impersonating his mother, Irene Prusik in a series of intricate fraud schemes involving millions of dollars.

After his arrest and during the trial, Parkin has tried strongly to play down the Psycho connection, denying that he is anything like the sinister protagonist Norman Bates. In the Daily Beast article, it was alleged that Parkin told detectives; “I held my mother when she was dying and breathed in her last breath, so I am my mother.”
I’m really sorry dude, but you sound a hell of a lot like Norman Bates to me!!

Part of the evidence presented against Parkin does include a film and whilst it might not have been as exciting as the great Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece Psycho, it certainly seemed to entertain the jurors at the trial. The film was made by detectives using a buttonhole camera and showed a figure (implied to be Parkin) sat on a couch wearing a dodgy wig, dark sunglasses, lippy and an oxygen mask (don’t ask me why!)

The trial is nearing its conclusion…I wonder how well the other inmates will take to him dressing like his mummy if he is convicted and sent to prison?!
