Apple released a Press Release today to officially announce that the new iPad will go sale this Friday at Apple’s retail stores and the Apple Online Store starting at 8:00 am local time.
It will debut in the US and nine other countries, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland and the UK; along with Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
Other countries such as, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden will have to wait until March 23rd.
With a long pre-order and several large retailers offering the New iPad 3rd Generation at launch, it will be interesting to see if there will be long queues. I’ve already pre-ordered my 64GB New iPad, so hopefully it’ll arrive on time.
