Music from Final Fantasy games VI, VII and X will be performed by the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) as part of a show entitled Final Symphony London that will take place at London’s prestigious Barbican Hall on the 30th May 2013.
Final Symphony London will be the orchestra’s first foray into the world of video game music, however they are well known in popular culture circles because they scored much of the Star Wars soundtrack as well as working on other huge movie hits like Indiana Jones and Harry Potter.
Tickets cost between £30 and £65 and can be purchased from the Barbican’s website.
I think it says a lot about the significance and stature of games and gaming in our society when a renowned organization like the London Symphony Orchestra puts on a show inspired by music from a game series.
What other video game soundtracks would you like to see performed by the LSO? Leave a comment and let us know.
